چکیده

Generalized Order Statistic Cell Averaging (GOSCA), Generalized Order Statistic Greatest Of (GOSGO), and Generalized Order Statistic Smallest Of (GOSSO) CFAR detectors are proposed. Each of them has its own advantages according to radar environment situations so that most effective radar detector can be chosen at any unpredictive situation. Their performance formulas in terms of false alarm probability and detection probability are derived. From the performance analysis, the GOSCA CFAR detector is the best in homogeneous situation, the GOSGO CFAR detector in clutter region near the clutter edges, and the GOSSO in clear region close to the clutter boundary and interfering targets situation. A new window structure to eliminate the fatal problem in GOSSO CFAR detector in clutter regions is also proposed. The false alarm probability of the proposed window structure performance is compared with conventional window structure.

Evaluation of Detection Performance under Employment of the Generalized Detector in Radar Sensor Systems

The detection performance of the generalized detector (GD) constructed based on the generalized approach to signal processing in noise is evaluated under homogeneous and non-homogeneous noise. The GD adaptive threshold is derived and defined applying an appropriate noise power estimation using the sliding window technique. The direct close expressions for the GD average probability of detection...

Modified Anderson-Darling Test-Based Target Detector in Non-Homogenous Environments

A constant false alarm rate (CFAR) target detector in non-homogenous backgrounds is proposed. Based on K-sample Anderson-Darling (AD) tests, the method re-arranges the reference cells by merging homogenous sub-blocks surrounding the cell under test (CUT) into a new reference window to estimate the background statistics. Double partition test, clutter edge refinement and outlier elimination are ...

CFAR detectors for UWB radars: An Overview and Comparison

In this paper different CFAR detectors for detection of multiple targets for UWB radar system will be described and their outputs compared. The cell averaging CFAR (CA-CFAR) cell averaging with greatest of (CAGO-CFAR), ordered statistics CFAR (OS-CFAR), clutter map CFAR (CMCFAR) and cell averaging CFAR assumed for gamma distributed clutter will be represented. The properties of all detectors wi...

Constant False Alarm Rate Detectors in Intensive Noise Environment Conditions

A different technique of CFAR detectors procedure for moving target detection in noise environment conditions with a Poisson distributed flow and Raleigh amplitude distribution is proposed in this paper . The expressions of the detection and false alarm probability are derived for a highly fluctuating Swerling II target. A comparative analysis of the performance of different radar detectors str...

Performance Analysis of CFAR Detection of Fluctuating Radar Targets in Nonideal Operating Environments

A constant false alarm rate in the presence of variable levels of noise is usually a requirement placed on any modern radar. The CAand OS-CFAR detectors are the most widely used ones in the CFAR world . The cell-averaging (CA) is the optimum CFAR detector in terms of detection probability in homogeneous background when the reference cells have identical, independent and exponentially distribute...
